Castle Rock Construction Named NARI 2005 Contractor of the Year

Suisun City, CA 03/02/05 — The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) named Castle Rock Construction, in Suisun City, 2005 Regional Contractor of the Year (CotY)  in the commercial exterior (Suisun “Fire House”)  category of its annual awards competition.

Founded in 1994 by Jim Pitcher, Castle Rock Construction is a leading design-build firm serving the greater Bay Area of California. Castle Rock specializes in home remodeling and custom home building:  Custom homes, classic wine cellars, gourmet kitchens, first and second story additions, garage conversions, and Whole house remodels. By providing quality craftsmanship at competitive prices, Castle Rock is one of the most comprehensive construction companies in the Bay area.

Contractors from seven regions around the country vie for CotY Awards on an annual basis, and all regional winners will be eligible for National CotY Awards at NARI’s Evening of Excellence on April 2 in Chicago.  All projects submitted for judging were an improvement or an addition to an existing structure.  New construction projects were not eligible.  In addition, competing projects were completed between July 1, 2003 and November 30, 2004 (a 17-month time period) and were not submitted in prior NARI National contests.  Judging for regional awards took place at the Association’s national headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois, in February.  An impartial panel of judges who are experts within the industry and associated fields, selected winners based on each entrant’s “before and after” photography and project description.  Judging was based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.

Trophies will be awarded at the 2005 Evening of Excellence in Chicago on April 2, where National CotY Winners will also be announced and awarded.

The Evening of Excellence is widely considered to be the premier event of the year in the remodeling industry.  Scheduled for April 2, 2005 at the Renaissance Hotel in Chicago, the event will be attended by more than 350 of the industry’s elite and is sponsored by the following NARI National Member companies:  Platinum Level:  GE Retail Sales Finance, Home Depot and Pella Corporation; Gold Level: Lowe’s Home Improvement; Silver Level:  20/20 Technologies; Pewter Level:  Andersen Windows and Doors; Bronze Level:  Business Networks, DuPont Corian®, Hanley Wood Remodeling magazine and Windsor One.

To be considered for a CotY Award, a company must be a NARI member in good standing.  NARI members represent an elite group from the approximately 800,000 companies and individuals in the U.S. identifying themselves as remodelers.
